My Bubble

Tonight...

I went Roller Blading…

Helped a friend learn how to skate…

Sang to “I Want it That Way” by th BackstreetBoys in Kareoke…

Laughed at my friends for falling on their butts…

Drank Rum and Coke whil eating Checkr’s hot dogs and fries….

Sang Happy Birthday and cut a cake that had too much icing for my taste….

Player DJ Hero while being laughed at for moving my butt to the music….

Hugged everyone and loved everyone…

Had a blast.

Tonight…

was an amazing night.

:)

“I believe in love, in kindness, and in singing in an out of tune fashion to your favourite songs. I believe in smiling till your cheeks hurt and laughing till your stomach hurts. I believe in having someone tell you you’re beautiful, dancing in the rain, and miracles. I believe in second chances, even if you’ve completely screwed up.”

No extra fat or cellulite.  This is what the female figure is supposed to look like.

No, actually that’s just what mainstrean media feeds you full of so that you think it’s an actual opinion that comes from within you. Wise up and take a history class. That’s what the female figure might look like, if you’re naturally really slim, or spend your life on a diet. Jeez, comments like that really makes me love men who truly loves women and the female form so much more. The purpose of diversity is revelry. And no, I’m not even fat and bitter, sorry ;)

Well said. I think what we need to retrain ourselves to believe is that our bodies belong to us and should reflect who we are as individuals. It’s been said so many times and it’s such an innate truth - confidence is the key. To use a relatable example - I find Beth Ditto as beautiful as I do Kate Moss because they’re both unique, confident and their bodies work in tandem with their attitudes.
I understand that people have a type. I, for example, enjoy short girls with big boobs and while I enjoy looking at all types of women, I only have sex with curvy ladies. It’s certainly not wrong to be attracted to a specific body type, what’s wrong is to judge women who don’t have either the body type you’re attracted to, or the body type that the mainstream media tells us to find attractive.
When I look at the notes on my reblogs, I often see such judgemental blanket statements like this one. I also see lots of women envying the bodies and faces of the women I post. I look at these gorgeous women not to covet their bodies but to admire and enjoy their beauty. I do the same thing when I marvel at a pretty girl walking down the street, or suicideblonde when she shimmies into a nightie, or myself before I shower. Bodies are made to be enjoyed, not judged. Give it a try, I promise it’s more fun to love what you’ve got than to hate what you don’t.
